Summary of Kiyomizu-dera

Kiyomizu-dera (清水寺) is a Kitahosso sect temple in Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto, Japan.

It is registered as a World Heritage Site, as one of the “Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto”.

Currently, the main hall is under renovation work and covered by sheet, but it is possible to enter including the main hall. In addition, renovation work is estimated to take until 2020.

Autumn leaves are best view about from the middle to the end of November. Cherry blossoms are best view about from the end of March to the beginning of April.

In March, August and November, special night visit will be held.

The special night visit for the spring of 2019 is held from March 29 to April 7, the open hours is 18:00 to 21:00, and the entrance fee is 400 yen. (Finished)

The special night visit for the summer of 2019 is held from August 14 to 16, the open hours is 18:30 to 21:00, and the entrance fee is 400 yen.

The special night visit for the autumn of 2019 is held from November 16 to December 1, the open hours is 17:30 to 21:00, and the entrance fee is 400 yen.
