Summary of Byodo-in

Byodo-in (平等院) is an independent temple in Uji, Kyoto, Japan.

It is registered as a World Heritage Site, as one of the “Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto”.

Autumn leaves are best view about from the middle to the end of November. Cherry blossoms are best view about from the end of March to the beginning of April.

In spring and autumn, special night visit will be held.

The special night visit for the autumn of 2019 is held on November 16, 17, 22, 23, 24, 29, 30 and December 1, the open hours is 18:00 to 20:30 (last entry 20:15), and the entrance fee is 1000 yen.
